HENRY ROSS

December 21, 1951 — May 16, 2018

Henry Ross was born on December 21, 1951, to the parentage of the late John Ross and Mildren Martin.

Henry spent his earlier years working at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He also did construction work for Austin Bridge and Road while living in Greenville, Mississippi. After retiring, he later moved to Dallas, Texas.

He was a faithful member of Grace Celebration Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Earl D. Young, Sr., where he was an active member until his health began to fail.

He was also an avid chess player, and he loved to cook and read.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Lois Ross; four sons, Henry (Joycelyn) Ross, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia, Omar K. Ross of Pasadena, California, Jamar Ross of Tuscon, Arizona, and Theodore (Tesha) Murphy of Hawthorne, California, formerly of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Okima C. Ross of Tuscon, Arizona; Blondale C. Ross of Atlanta, Georgia, Teresa (Quintary) Peller of Greenville, Mississippi, and Tiffany (Marquain) Jones of Metcalf, Mississippi; two sisters, Ruby (Van) Ross Ward of Detroit, Michigan, and Frances (Fred) Ross Conley of Detroit, Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends.
