HERBERT VICKERS

Herbert Lee Vickers Sr. was born March 20,1951 in Quincy Florida to the late Lester Vickers Sr. and the late Flora Ward. In 1971, Herbert married Shirley Ann Vickers whom preceded him in death in 2010. From that union he was the father to four children. Over 10 years, Herbert shared a loving union with Janice Douglas until his passing. Herbert retired from Xerox Corporation in 1987 as a Floor Supervisor. He was a caring son, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a devoted friend. Herbert held the position of Deacon at Loving Fellowship Baptist Church in Duncanville, Texas. Herbert loved playing cards, dominoes and listening to Old School Music. If it was in vinyl, he had to have it. Herbert loved football, and was a die-hard Cowboys fan. In his eyes, the Cowboys could do no wrong! Herbert leaves behind seven siblings, Lonzo Strong, Florine Drayton, Lester Vickers Jr., Glenn Alexander, Linda Vickers, Janice Vickers and Pickett Vickers; six children, Darlene Ranger (deceased), Annette Johnson (Douglas McKinney), James Johnson, Herbert Lee Vickers Jr., Michael Austin and Tomeka Walker (Joe Walker); twelve grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
