PASTOR DR. H. LEE BARNES

PASTOR DR. H. LEE BARNES, a cherished devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a respected figure in his community, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 10, 1948, Pastor was a beacon of light and laughter, known for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and unwavering support for his family and friends.

Throughout his life, Pastor exemplified what it meant to be a man of God. He served his community with great dedication as a former three-term Mayor of Cuney, Texas. His leadership was marked by a commitment to the well-being of those he served and a deep love for his hometown. Pastor was also an ordained minister and retired pastor of Sanctuary True Tabernacle Church, where he touched countless lives through his teachings and compassionate spirit.

Pastor had a profound appreciation for music, particularly classical and gospel, which often echoed within his home and church, reflecting his vibrant personality and devotion to his faith. He was a reliable friend and a factual source of information, traits that made him a trusted confidant among those who knew him.

His legacy will be honored during a viewing on April 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, followed by a wake service from 6:00-7:00PM located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. A funeral service will be held the following day, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Jordan Baptist Church, located at 1515 Dewberry Blvd, Lancaster, TX 75134.

Pastor is lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched and will be deeply missed. His contributions to both his family and community leave behind a legacy of love, support, and steadfast faith that will endure in the hearts of many.
