Horace Minafee Sr. was born on December 6, 1940 to the late Lotis Minafee Sr. and Tommie Deloise Adams. He was one of the 12 children born to this union. He attended Dallas Public Schools in Dallas, TX.
Horace lived the majority of his life in Dallas, Texas. Horace accepted Christ at an early age. He reunited with Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he worshipped and served the Lord until his death. He loved helping others and was a father to many. Horace worked several years as an auto body mechanic and coach and father figure to his beloved softball team. He enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. He loved watching old TV sitcoms, Westerns, Bible movies, and baseball games.
Horace was preceded in death by both his parents and eight of his siblings. Horace will be missed tremendously by his loving children, Bertha Hunter (Calvin Hunter Sr.), Horace Minafee Jr., Felicia Smith -Silmon (Kevin Silmon Sr.), Aronia Smith (Gabriel Guice Sr.). Jasmine Brown, Kanesha Garrett, Jasper Garrett, Horace Turner, Teresa Brittain; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memories are: sisters Viola M. McNeely, Vernette Curry and Yvonne Minafee Branch; brother Otis Minafee; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He will be missed by all and forever in our hearts.
