Sir Howard Jacobs was born on said birth date June 29, 1933 (June 29, 1925) to the union of Austin and Nora Lattimore Jacobs. Howard was educated in the Rockwall Independent School District.
Howard accepted Christ at a very early age and was a faithful member of Green Pasture Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder J.J. Harris, where he continued to hold membership under Pastor Milton E. Featherston until his passing.
Howard was united in Holy Matrimony to Ruth Smothers on October 26, 1957. They were married for over 51 years. He was known for his faithfulness to the church and the community. Howard served as Deacon, Elder, and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He was a great man of God, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was affectionately known as Thank’um, Thunderbolt and Preacher.
Howard was employed by many of the surrounding cities: Fort Worth, Benbrook, White Settlement, and Forest Hill. He was also employed by Union Pacific (Ice House), Traders Oil Mill, Proctor and Gamble, Texas Steel, Ft. Worth Concrete Product (20 years), as a general laborer and contractor, and Rancher Bills for over 35 years. He loved the outdoors and was a great hunter and fisherman. Sir Howard Jacobs loved to do the work of the Lord and share the word with anyone.
On June 21, 2018, at 12:57 PM, he was called home to cease from laboring. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Nora Jacobs; wife, Ruth Jacobs; daughters, Carolyn Jacobs and Naomi Williams; and a son, B.B. Cooks, his sisters, Lottie Lee Duffy, Novella Valentine, Sophie Jacobs, and Anna Ruth Barber; and brothers, Robert, Walter, Prince, J.D. Sr., Ned, Ed, Curtis, and John Henry Jacobs.

Jacobs (Tammy), and Elder Hurley Ray Cooks (Bettie), all of Fort Worth, Texas; a loyal grandson, Gary L. Jacobs; and special nephews, Albert Lee Jacobs and J.D. Jacobs, Jr. Howard’s proud lineage consist of twenty-nine grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
