Born on November 4, 1936, in Kaufman, Texas, Ida Mae was more than just a mother; she was the heart of her family and a cherished friend whose laughter echoed through the halls of every gathering.

Ida Mae, with her feisty spirit and infectious humor, was renowned for her incredible storytelling and for telling jokes that brought smiles to faces from young to old. Her ability to listen with genuine interest made her not just a confidant but a cherished companion to many. As a family-oriented matriarch, she dedicated her life to raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren (known as "Mae Mae "to them) her proudest accomplishments were woven into the fabric of her family’s lives, filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Her culinary talents were legendary; she took immense pleasure in cooking and relished every moment spent preparing delightful meals, often accompanied by an abundance of sweets that delighted those around her. She was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks, her spirited cheers echoing through her home and gatherings, further showcasing her love for the teams that inspired camaraderie and joy amongst friends and family alike.

The holiday season lingered in the air with an unmistakable essence when she was around; her spirit would illuminate every room she entered, and her laughter filled the hearts of those gathered. Ida Mae’s love transcended generations, leaving a legacy of kinship that will forever resonate within her family.

A viewing to celebrate her vibrant life will be held on December 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75224. Subsequently, a Funeral Service in her honor will take place on December 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, JOHN CHAPEL,
