JAMES JACKSON

December 11, 1946 — December 7, 2021

It was a beautiful day on December 11, 1946 in the city of Fort Worth, Texas. When Howard and Lora Jackson celebrated the arrival of their son whom they named James Howard. James received his education in the FWISD School District. He graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in 1964.

He met and married his high school sweetheart Ida Mae Carter and from this union three sons were born, James Jr., Patrick, and Anthony. James and Ida shared a marriage for 33 years until her death in 1966.

James accepted Christ at an early age at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. God called him into ministry in 1988 and he became Elder James Jackson.

In October of 2000, he met and married Gwendolyn Edwards and to this union, no children were born. He raised her 2 sons ZJovon Packer and Hargis Murray as his own.

James was a kind, giving person, compassionate, and caring. He was a devoted man of God. He was also a loving and caring Minister who shared God’s word everywhere he went. He was devoted to his wife Gwendolyn and his sons, Patrick, Anthony, ZJovon, and Hargis.

James is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Laura, his son, James Jr., brothers; Howard Jr., Willie, and Rickey, and sister Billie Ruffins.

He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his homegoing to his wife Gwendolyn Jackson, sons Patrick (Cynthia), Anthony (Nicole), ZJovon, and Hargis, three sisters; Lynn (James), Janice (Bobby), and Rosie Childress, sister in law Barbara Jackson, grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
