Celebration of life services for James Curtis King will be held on August 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Victory Life Pentecostal Church, Pastor Kevin Duvall, pastor. The address is 5180 Western Center Blvd., Haltom City, Texas. There will be a viewing on Monday, 12pm – 5pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 5701 E. Loop 820 South, Ft. Worth, Texas.
James King went home to be with his Lord on August 2, 2024 at the age of 70 yrs. after a sudden illness. James was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on January 6, 1954. His family moved to Parmer, Missouri when he was a baby. Later, the family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended St. Louis Schools from grades 7 -12. He was a graduate of Vashon High School and O’Fallon Technical Institute. After graduating from high school, James attended Merrimac Community College which led to his decision to enlist in the US Air Force. He served his country from 1972-76 and later served in the Air Force Reserve and Army National Guard from 1976-1982. James married Susan Emanuel on September 19, 1975 and celebrated 48.75 years of loving and committed marriage together. Their union was blessed with three children and nine grandchildren.
James was a retired medical/health insurance agent. He was a member of the Victory Life Pentecostal Church in Haltom City, Texas.
He loved and valued his family and friendships and was a blessing in the lives of those who knew him. He was a generous person, a man of integrity and had a way of encouraging, helping and uplifting others. James will always be remembered for his wholehearted praise and worship to the Lord and his kind, gentle spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his faithful wife, Susan E. King; three children Chris S. King, Fort Worth, Texas, Candace Y. King, Mandalay, Myanmar, Carl E. King, St. Charles, Illinois; Nine grandchildren: Alena (Israel) Miranda, Savannah, Abigail, Jasmin, Daniella, Benjamin, Chantelle, Gabriella and Tobias and three siblings: Jerry (Ellen) Bennett, Conroe, Texas; Opal M. King, St. Charles, Missouri, and Judy Lott (Gene), Greenville, North Carolina. James is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
