Mrs. Jeffrie Jackson was born on November 2, 1921, in Elysian Fields, Texas, to the parentage of Ed and Roberta Sanders. She received her formal education from Elysian Fields public schools.She united in holy matrimony to Johnnie R. Jackson on June 30, 1939. To this union came four children. She attended Marshall Beauty School, became a hair stylist, and went on to do hair for over 60 years. She retired from the business at the age of 85. She became a member of St. Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Reuben Sampson Sr., then later followed the pastorage of Rev. Stapleton at Shekinah Tabernacle.
She departed this life on June 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Rufus; her son, Paul Lester; daughter, Jessie Laverne; five brothers; and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Susan Jackson and LaRue Jackson Hubbard; one sister, Hattie Mae Williams; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
