JESSIE JOHNSON

Jessie was born to the union of Lewis Lyles and Esther Lee (Johnson) Lyles in Palestine, TX. She was the third of ten children born to this union. She and Frank Johnson were married February 21, 1967, with no children born of this union. She became the mother of many who adored and loved her, as she did them. She became a member of Oak Hill Baptist, serving God, members, and family for 60 years. In her 60 year tenure she served as a member of the Woman Council, a member of the Trustee Board, and on the Usher Board. She was loving, caring and giving; she never met a stranger.

She started working for the Lawson family exhibiting such a loving caring, giving, dependable, trustworthy and honest spirit that she worked there for 35 years. She became an honorary member of the family.

Preceding her in death is her father and mother; sister, Vesther (Lyles) Porter; and brothers, James Wilson and Sam Lyles.

She is survived by: her husband, Frank Johnson; her siblings, Essie, Roy, Lewis, Jewelin, Gertie and Mary; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
