He was a proud Infantryman and was a member of The “Big Red One.” The family has often heard about his many war encounters. To us he was our hero. But Jim had a hero of his own, GOD. He became an ordained minister in 1990 in Oakland California. None of his military time outshined or compared to his dedication and faith in the Lord. Jim has trusted and believed in the Lord for everything in his life. He came from a family that was deep rooted with God. There’s never been a time that you spent time with him and he didn’t speak about the goodness of God. Whenever visiting with him he always asked what you had to be thankful to the Lord for. And at the end there was a prayer. Mr. Parker will truly be missed by his family and many more.
