JOANN HARRIS

August 18, 1943 — July 10, 2021

Joann Todd Harris was born August 18, 1943 to Reverend Aubrey and Pearline Todd in Snyder, Texas.  She was reared in Sweetwater, Texas as the youngest of six siblings.  Joann attended Booker T. Washington High School in Sweetwater where she was a star basketball player on the all girls’ team.  She graduated from Spur High School in Spur, Texas.

In 1962, Joann married Tommy Harris. The newly wedded couple later relocated to Dallas, Texas and four children were born to this union. She was employed at Texas Instruments where she retired after 20 years of faithful service.

Although Joann was a retiree, she insisted on remaining extremely active.  Joann loved to cook and was a master at doing so.  While she truly enjoyed cooking, the greatest joy was watching others happily consume the food. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also was a wonderful Nanny to a family of four. Joann looked forward to her weekend adventures to garage sales, estate sales, flea and farmers’ markets.  During her tenure on earth, she touched many lives.  Joann was a beautiful person inside and out and will be sorely missed.  She had an infectious smile and could bring sunshine to any atmosphere.

Joann is preceded in death by: his parents, Aubrey and Pearline Todd; his sisters, Billie Sue Irving and Carrie Mae Irving; his brother, Aubrey Todd; his son, Ronald Keith Harris; grandchildren Keri Harris and Robert Gideon Mosley.

Joann’s memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of:  her sisters, Nona Faye (Walter) Finley and Annie Ruth Mosley; her children, Sherry Michelle Todd, Gregory “Buzzy” (Carla) Harris, Pamela (Darren) Hadnot and Regina Mosley; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
