Joe Ann Green was called home by our Lord and Savior on June 14, 2024, peacefully at Charlton Medical Center. Joe Ann was born August 23, 1951 to Dearie Thomas and in Natchez, Mississippi. She grew up and went to school in Natchez. She worked different jobs in the medical field to support her four children, until she was disabled with a fractured back. She really enjoyed when the family got together on holidays and for cookouts. She always looked out and took care those individuals or families that she felt needed help. She even took food to strangers she might have met along her way. She was the kind of person who would give you her last and always encouraged others to do better or have a plan to improve their situation.
She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren family and friends. She defined herself by her family and faith. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt cousin, and friend. Knowing that her family and friends were doing well always gave her peace. The Dallas Cowboys were her favorite team.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dearie Thomas, her daughter Lawanda Hutchins and ex-husband and friend Eugene Hutchins. Joe Ann is survived by her sisters Lovey Green and Carol Green, son Gerald Green, daughters Trinita Green and Monica Hutchins and Gayle Willaims. Grandchildren Gerald Green Jr., Chemequa (MEKA) Hutchins, Ta’Bresha Green, Cartmaine Phillips Jr., Jabarrie Hutchins, Jimmy Chisolm, Jamie (MEME) Chisolm, Tri’Nya Daniels. Byron Bumphus Jr., Iyanna Green and Jamir Bumphus. Great Grandchildren Tanijah Green, Zi’Nya Thomas, Tatiyanna Green, Za’Marion Brisco, La’Damerian Sims, Da’Michael Johnson, Kaliyah Green, Karniyah Phillips, SaVannah Buckley, Cherish Grey, Tyarek Buckley Jr. and Azi Phillips.
Joe Ann loved her family and friends. She left her everlasting impression on this world and all she touched; she will forever be an angel walking beside us. She will be so dearly missed by family and friends. Rest in Heaven until we are reunited again, love you and out.
