JOHN BARLOW

June 13, 1951 — January 18, 2022

John Ellis Barlow was born June 13, 1951 in Tallulah, Louisiana to the parents of Nathaniel and Ira Barlow who preceded him in death.

He was educated in the public schools of Tallulah, Louisiana, graduating from Reuben McCall High School. John joined the United States Air Force in 1974 and was a Vietnam Veteran, and he was honorably discharged in 1977.

John was a member of Bethany World Prayer Center Church, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Pastor Rev. Jonathan Stockwell. After moving to Dallas, Texas he joined North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Terren Dames.

John was blessed with six children. He married Melba Frierson, April 8, 2012.

John was a loving father and husband. He is survived by his wife Melba Barlow; four children, Rodney Turner (Dawn), Jonathan Barlow (Jaquita), Jason Barlow (Katrina), and Arthur Turner, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

John is also survived by seven sisters – Nellie Hayes of Las Vegas, NV, Agatha Gavin of Las Vegas, NV, Susie Barlow, of Las Vegas, NV, Emma Calvin of Las Vegas, NV,  Mattie Gilliam of Las Vegas, NV, and Cherry Robinson of Monroe, LA; four brothers – Nathaniel Barlow of Las Vegas, NV, James Barlow (Linda) of Milwaukee, WI, Charles Barlow of Tallulah, LA, and Robert Robinson of Orlando, FL; and a host of relatives and close friends.

John is preceded by his son Frederick Turner, daughter Kimyetta Barlow, and six siblings – Marlene Coleman Morris , Gussie White , Lucille Barlow, Quincy Barlow, Dorothy Brooks , and Troy Robinson..
