JOHNNIE MAE SUTTON

JOHNNIE MAE SUTTON, a cherished member of the Irving community, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on June 10, 1949, Johnnie was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and energy touched the lives of many. She was known for her fun and sassy personality, which made her a beloved figure not only among family and friends but also in her professional life as a dedicated day care owner.

Johnnie had a profound love for children and found immense joy in nurturing their growth and development. Her passion for caring for children extended beyond her day care, as she embraced the children of her church family as her own. Johnnie's proudest accomplishments included the deep connections she formed with her family as well as the children she cared for throughout her life.

An avid cook, Johnnie delighted in preparing soul food and sweet tea, sharing her culinary talent with all who knew her. She had a love for fish and thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals that brought people together. Additionally, Johnnie had a passion for travel, writing, and reading, always seeking new adventures and stories to share. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did, reflecting her love for exploring the world around her.

In the wake of her passing, a visitation will be held to honor Johnnie’s life on March 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The following day, another visitation will take place at Dayspring Family Church, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 12:00 PM on March 8, 2025. Dayspring Family Church is located at 618 North Belt Line Road, Irving, TX 75061.

Johnnie Mae Sutton is survived by her loved ones and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she enriched. Her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to others will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
