Judy Lashon Sutton, a vibrant spirit whose laughter seemed to resonate in every corner of her life, departed this world on January 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, joy, and an unmistakable zest for life. Born on August 27, 1965, in Dallas, TX, Judy spent her days as a manager at South Dallas Cafe, where her infectious personality lit up the dining room like a beacon of warmth.
Known to many as a true "people person," Judy never met a stranger. Her quick wit and playful humor made her a magnet for friendships, drawing people into her comfortable embrace with the ease of a masterful storyteller. Whether sharing a hearty laugh or recounting fond memories, she created a tapestry of connections that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Outside of work, Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She savored listening to music videos, cooking delicious meals, indulging in her love for animals, and immersing herself in the thrill of watching sports. Her spirited nature was complemented by her interests in crosswords, dominoes, and Candy Crush, not to mention her penchant for scary movies that kept her family entertained during cozy nights in.
Judy's culinary talents were not just a passion; they reflected her proudest accomplishments, earning her a culinary certificate and food handler license. These achievements speak to a woman deeply committed to her craft, pouring her heart into every dish she created and feeding the souls of her loved ones with her well-curated meals.
Judy's unwavering devotion to her family was as evident as her boundless energy. She is survived by her loving husband, Leo West, daughter Jewell Sutton, sons Steven Sutton, Mustafa Ashanti, Kenneth Hoskins, Jr., Leo West, Jr., and stepdaughter Leah West. Judy was also a proud grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren, Kamaje Nelson and Madisyn Crayton. She is held dear in the hearts of her brothers, Paul (Patricia) and Ronald (Marilyn) Sutton, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and myriad friends who will carry her spirit forward.
Although Judy's parents Jewell Lee Sutton and Paul E. Sutton, Sr and brother, Dave Sutton, and sister, Ardell Richardson, a, have passed on, her memory will endure, interwoven with tales of laughter and camaraderie shared over family gatherings and jubilant celebrations.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the viewing on February 7,, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, followed by a funeral service on February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Steven Temple Church off god in Christ ..
