Landon Gregory Garrett

Landon Garrett, a para-legal by profession, passed away on December 21, 2023. Born on September 21, 1959, he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. Landon was a remarkable individual who made a lasting impact through his dedication to his career and his love for the arts.

Landon's educational journey began at W. T. White High School, where he laid the foundation for a bright future. He then pursued higher education at SMU University and Georgetown University in Washington D.C., where he honed his skills and garnered an impressive academic reputation. Landon's commitment to learning was evident throughout his life as he constantly sought knowledge and intellectual growth.

While Landon was known for his professional achievements, his true passion lay in the world of ballet and opera. Few could match the fervor with which he immersed himself in these art forms. He possessed an innate appreciation for graceful movements in ballet and the emotive power of opera. Attending performances brought him pure joy and allowed him to escape into a realm of beauty and emotion.

Beyond his career and hobbies, Landon held family and friends close to his heart. He was preceded in death by Sean Conner, his father Jewel Brown, mother Rosetta Burns, Aunt Mattie (Mattie Garrett) and Papa (George Garrett)

Landon is survived by uncle Edward Lane, his sisters Deborah Vann, Sherri McClain, Bridgett Brown, Kendra Burns, and brother Kevin Burns and a host of nieces and nephews. His siblings were not just family but also his closest friends who shared both laughter and tears alongside him. Their bond will forever hold them together even in their utmost grief.

In remembering Landon Garrett, it is important not only to mourn his loss but also to celebrate his life and the impact he made on those around him. His warm smile, kind heart, and intellectual brilliance touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
