LESLEY LEE GILES SR

LESLEY LEE GILES SR, a dedicated and cherished member of community, passed away on October 21, 2024 at the age of 82. Born on May 11, 1942, Lesley lived a life full of encouragement, humor, and service to others.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Lesley served with honor in the United States Army, earning accolades such as the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery. His military service profoundly shaped his character and propelled him toward a lifelong journey of giving back to others. Lesley was an active member of the Dora Miller VFW Post and the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and continued to serve his fellow veterans.

Lesley was more than a veteran; he was a devoted family man. He took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His influence extended beyond family, touching the lives of countless friends and acquaintances who appreciated his outgoing nature and ability to inspire through laughter and love. He also served as a Deacon at Life of God Church, further exemplifying his commitment to his faith and community.

Lesley’s legacy will be honored during the viewing at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on Thursday October 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Following this, a funeral service will be held at River of Life Church in DeSoto on Friday November 1, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM. His family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived.

He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who will remember him for his kindness, his unwavering spirit, and his love for life. Lesley Lee Giles Sr will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his tremendous contributions to his family, community, and country.
