LESLEY SEAY

September 19, 1946 — July 24, 2021

Lesley Seay, Sr. was called from labor to rest on Saturday, July 24, 2021. at 11:03 AM. He was a loving, giving and selfless family man who loved the Lord with everything in him. He devoted his life to serving Him. He would share the word of God and give godly wisdom to everyone whom he came into contact with.

He was born on September 19, 1946 to Alonzo Seay, Sr. and Lucille McPhearson Seay in Gonzalez, TX. He graduated from Edwards High School in Gonzalez, TX in 1965. After graduating, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of the United States where he was honorably discharged in June of 1967.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Gonzalez County.

On December 7, 1968, he married the love of his life, Arquilla “Faye” Ellison, and they moved to Fort Worth, TX to begin their life together. Through this union, God blessed them with two children, LaShun and “Lil” Lesley. He took his family and joined Beth Eden Baptist Church in 1981, where he was a faithful member. He sang in the Choir and was a member of the Beth Eden Male Chorus. He loved his Pastor and his church until the day he died.

He provided for his family as a Truck Driver for over 35 years and he retired from AMC in 2009.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Alonzo Seay, Sr. and Lucille Seay; two brothers, Charles “Sonny” Seay and Billy Seay; and three sisters, Gladys “Sis” Spaulding, Mariam Jackson and Dorothy “Dot” Mathis.

Lesley is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Arquilla Seay, two children, LaShun Rice and Lesley Seay, Jr. (Nikia); brother, Alonzo “Bud” Seay II; his brother-in-law, Isaac Ellison; sisters, Mildred Jordan (Ernest), Mattie Henderson (Carl), Annie Pleasant, Joyce Benson and Carrolin Henderson; sisters-in-law, Mary Forcey and Elsie Mackey; grandchildren, Kelvin Wofford (Mariah), Kymble Burkley, Lesley Seay, III, Kaden Seay, Khylin Seay and Reggie Rice, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Kadren Burkley and Karter Burkley; nephew, Willis Mackey; niece, Wanda Mackey; and a host of nieces, nephews and the Pate Street children whom he loved dearly.

Lesley was a light in his community, and he touched the lives of so many in a positive way. He was so patient and never complained about anything. He saw good in everyone. He left a legacy that we will cherish and that we will hold deep in our hearts until we see him again in glory!
