LILLIAN ESTLEAN YOUNG

Lillian Estlean Young, lovingly known as Vanilla to her friends and family on Facebook, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, at the Green Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Arlington. She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on March 30, 1930, to Gertrude Mitchell and Johnny Davis. She was also blessed to have William Mitchell as her stepfather.

Lillian led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories for everyone she encountered. She dedicated many years of service as a cook in the school cafeteria, where she brought joy to students through her delicious meals. Her culinary talents were unmatched, and her presence in the cafeteria brightened many young lives.

In addition to her career, Lillian enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought her immense happiness. She found solace in the rhythmic movements of bowling, delighting in every strike and cheering those around her. Shopping was a treasured pastime for Lillian, where she had an expert eye for finding hidden gems and keeping up with the latest trends. Traveling was another passion of hers; she embraced new experiences with an open heart and mind.

Lillian's proudest accomplishment was participating in the church prison ministry. She devoted herself to providing support and guidance to incarcerated individuals seeking redemption. Her unwavering faith and love touched the lives of many prisoners who sought solace within the confines of their cells.

She was a beloved mother to Freddie and adored by her son-in-law Curtis. Lillians's grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, giving her immeasurable joy throughout the years. She shared a deep bond with her siblings that remained unbreakable until her last breath.

Friends and family are invited to attend the services honoring Lillian Estlean Young. The viewing will take place on December 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 5415 Matlock Rd in Arlington, Texas. Following the viewing, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM at the same location. On December 29, 2023, at 9:15 AM, Lillian will be laid to rest with dignity and respect in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas, Texas.

Lillian's warm smile and kind heart will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion that will continue to inspire generations to come.
