MABLE DOTCH

July 23, 1915 — March 27, 2020

Mable Norma Ruth Powell Dotch, age 104, departed this life and transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, March 27th, 2020.

Mable accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church for many years when she lived in Mobile Alabama. When she moved to Lancaster, Texas, she placed her membership at Ben Washington Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health failed.

Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Eben Powell and Myra Amilia Powell; husband Joseph Cephus Dotch; sisters, ldree Beard and Orleen Robins, and son, William Dotch.

Mable and her husband Joseph Cephus Dotch both were founding members of the Trinity Garden Civic Club and both were founding members of the Non-Partisan Voters League which successfully filed the Birdie Mae Davis VS Mobile County Public School System Lawsuit that resulted in the integration of the public school system in Mobile Alabama.

Mable is the proud parent of 14 children. She has over 70 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Dotch were entrepreneurs who operated five business beginning in the 1930s. She was a Alabama State Voter Registrar for over 50 years, a member of the Non-Partisan Voters League, NAACP and the Trinity Groves Club.

On July 1st, 2010, in Fort Worth Texas, Mrs. Mable Dotch received the first bottle of Dotch Barbeque Sauce to come off the assembly line, that is renowned to be good enough to eat without meat. She received the key to the city in Mobile, Alabama on Thursday, July 23, 2015, on her 100th Birthday.

Mrs. Mable leaves a legacy of love cherishing her memories and rejoicing her life are, her children Josephine Childs, Joseph D. Dotch, Rayford Dotch (Beverly) Edward Dotch (Doris), Emmanuel Dotch (Annie) Daisy Montgomery (Wesley) Mable Ruth Dotch, Norman Dotch (Pamela), Paul Christopher Dotch (Margo) Debra Dotch, Michael Dotch Gary Dotch (Donna); devoted friends, Mary Owes, Pinky Carter, Lauvenia Wallace Lorretta Bell and Edwina Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews other family members and Friends. Last but not least her True Vine and Ben Washington Church Families.
