MARGIE DAVIS

Margie was born in Freestone County. She was the first of eight children born to the parents of Jim (Sonny) and Locile Fantroy. She attended Dogan High School in Fairfield, Texas.

At an early age, she attended services at Avant AME Church in Freestone County. As an adult, for several years, she enjoyed the ministry and fellowship of members of Lloyd Missionary
Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. However, on February 13, 2018, Margie felt an emptiness that great sermons, good singing and church visitations could not fil l. Her soul longed for a heavenly home, one not made with hands eternal in the heavens. No more visitations, she wanted permanent residence. That night, her daughter, Linda led her in prayer right into the arms of
Christ; as Margie confessed her sins and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Now she is safe, to God be the glory!

Margie loved to prepare food. She spent many years serving as cook in restaurants, cafeterias and store fronts. She also became entrepreneur of her own cafeteria. After years of public
service, Margie returned to her home and continued to serve her family, friends and relatives through her wonderful gift of cooking. One of her greatest joys was to share her meals with others. Margie had a passion for life and wore a smile that could not be denied. Down through the years, she was blessed with many friends. Her expressions, kindness and laughter will live on the heart of her long time friend, Gracie Lane and
numerous others.

Margie was married to Hubert Davis (who preceded her in death); to this union one child was born Hubert Davis, Jr.
She later married Mansfield Carr who preceded her in death.

Margie’s parents also preceded her in death as well as five of her siblings: Love B. Fantroy, James (JL) Fantroy, Lucille Fantroy Finley, Richard Fantroy and Jerry Fantroy

Her memory will be cherished by her four children; Linda N. Fantroy, Farina D. Manning, Hubert Davis, Jr, and Bernard K. Davis (Linda C). Margie will be sorely missed by her three beloved grandsons: Charlton E. Houston, Jr., Christopher T. Fantroy (Kendra) and Cary E. Houston. They each in their own way viewed her as their Soldier and Confidant. Eight great grand children will remember the laughter, love and fun shared with their “Mama Margie.” Her passing has tenderly touched the lives of her three remaining siblings: Ruth Noble, James W. Fantroy, and Marvin Fantroy (Gloria). Margie will be perpetually and fondly missed and remembered in the heart of Ray Wilson.

She will be thought of and missed by her nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.
