Born Maryland Patricia Carter was the last-born child of 5 to a Cajun mother Gertrude and a Jamaican father Isiah Carter.
Fun fact: Maryland did not like the spelling of her name as the state of
Maryland so at a young age she changed the spelling of her name to
“M A R I L Y N“
Marilyn was a proud native of St James, Louisiana and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1972. She met and married her husband of 47 years, Hervey Noel in 1975. Together Marilyn and Hervey raised their 2 children, Francois and Telly in Duncanville, Texas.
In 1979, Marilyn attended Texas College where she completed a life dream of becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Also, in 1979, Marilyn became a member to her passing day of her beloved church, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she loved to worship and serviced as a Nurse’s Gale.
Let it be known Marilyn’s biggest and most precious joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marilyn’s love language was honestly blessing her family with her wonderful traditional Louisiana style homemade cuisines.
As her life in her earthly body drew to an end, Marilyn was encircled by the love of family. It was evident that the hands of GOD and the peace of the Lord was upon her honoring her life well lived surrounded by love.
Marilyn Noel will forever be cherished and is survived by: her husband, Hervey Noel; son, Francois Carter; daughter, Telly Carter-Bailey; sister, Florisca Harper; grandson’s, Joshua Parks and Daryl Williams; grand-daughter’s, Arbriana Carter and Amber Bailey; great-grandchildren, Ashyr & Aspyn Parks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, relatives and friends.
