Stevens, Mary Louise (Weezy), (70), a resident of Lancaster, Texas entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2016. Mary was born in Kaufman, TX to the late Liller White and the late Johnny Cooper on March 11, 1946.
She attended Burnett Elementary/High School and graduated from J. N. Ervin High School in 1964, where she was a Majorette and participated in Basketball and Track. Mary excelled in academics and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. She was a long term employee at Southwestern Bell before leaving to pursue other dreams.
Mary was warm, gracious, generous and genuine. She loved to âSHOPâ!! â She loved being surrounded by the energy of her large family, who all loved her dearly. Her devotion to family and firm belief in God supported her in her medical struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was a member of New Born Missionary Baptist Church.
Mary met the late Purvis Lee and they moved to Dallas, TX to begin their family. Mary raised her 4 children with patience and love. She is survived by her children Marietta Judge (Cletus), Patrice Stevens, Purvis Lee and Judith Washington (Gregory).
She is also survived by her sisters Mae White, Patty Hickman (Willie), Annie Johnson, Johnnie James (Conway), Zora Taylor, Polly Witherspoon (Roy), Irene Brooks (Kenneth), Dorothy Silas and her brother J.C. Cooper.
She is survived by her Grandchildren: Daon Lee, AâJuan Washington, Christian Judge, Kathryn Washington, Kenneth Washington, Shaterica Asberry, Joshua Minor, Jamicia Walker and Faith Pogue.
Mary is preceded in death by her sisters Jaunita Hall, Carolyn Cooper and Bruso Cooper and her parents.
She also was blessed to know and love eight great-grandchildren.
Along with her children and grandchildren, she loved being âAunt Maryâ to many nieces, cousins, nephews and their children loved her being their special auntie. She will be greatly missed by her special friends Dwight Wrighting, Alford Davis and Audrey Bowen (Duke), her family and her wide circle of devoted friends.
