MAURICE CORSEY

Maurice “Peter” Corsey (aka Dr. Love), was born
January 9, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Mr. Robert Lee Corsey and Mrs. Walter Steen Corsey. He received his education from the Dallas Independent School District.

Maurice (Peter) accepted Christ long before eternal life.

On September 25, 1965, Maurice united in marriage to Helen Lincoln-Corsey, and to this union, five children were born. He loved his children and family dearly, and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Maurice enjoyed his career in the healthcare industry, and retired from Baylor Medical Center of Dallas in 2010. He also enjoyed recreational activities such as golf and billiards. Maurice was a people person, and he never met a stranger. He was passionate about God’s word, and served as a deacon at Life Temple Family Church in Dallas under the leadership of Pastor Hatch.

Maurice peacefully entered eternal rest on June 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Walter Steen Corsey, and the mother of his five children, Helen Lincoln-Corsey. He leaves to continue his legacy: daughters, LaVeta Malbrough (Allen), Zabrina Johnson (Cedric), and DeAndria Currie (Tracy); sons, Derek Corsey and Dante’ Corsey (Anjanette); brother, Robert Corsey (Evelyn); sisters, Jimmie Haynes (Bobby) and Lomita Belin; 10 grandchildren, LaKeisha, ZsaKendria, Keithia, Devenique, Gary, Chassidy, Jerry Jr., Chelsi, Dante’ II, and Ashton; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
