Michael “Don” Randon was tragically taken from us on May 14, 2022 in his community of Pleasant Grove in East Dallas, Texas at the age of 75.
Michael Randon was born on May 28, 1946 to Therdoe and Marietta Randon in Dallas, Texas. He attended Dallas Public Schools. After leaving James Madison High School, Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force serving a full term where he would leave with the rank of Air Force Corporal and Air Policeman. Michael went on to receive his Associates in Sociology from Dallas College El Centro and his Bachelors in Sociology from Bishop College.
Michael was always known as a bright smart, intelligent and witty person. He loved to make people laugh. He loved to see people happy. As he would always say, “What a Dallas boy say?” He say, “Hey, Hey Man!” (He loved to joke around.) Cooking for others was one of his ways of bringing happiness to others. He was a singer, a musician and a lover of music.
In his professional career Michael would work for a company that he loved by the name of LTV (Link Temps Vault) for over four years. When he lost that job, he was disheartened. He would also work for the Dallas Independent School District as a substitute teacher for over ten years. One of his last jobs that he would partake in was grading and scoring essay papers and his last residence was at 7835 Military Pkwy at the “Greater Bethlehem Plaza Apartments” where he was cherished by his friends and associates of that apartment community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Therdoe Randon; his mother, Marietta Bell; his stepfather, Cecil Bell; his sisters, Barbara Ann Wade and Melody Leigh Bell; his brothers, Daniel Wayne Randon and Marcus Randon; his stepsister, Helen Watkins; his stepbrothers, Harry Bell and Lloyd Jean Bell.
He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Warren L. Houston Sr.; three grandchildren, Warren L. Houston Jr., Isaiah L. Houston and Christopher A. Houston; one sister, Rebecca L. Jones; two brothers, Sheffield C. Bell and Christopher D. Bell; one stepsister, Mary L. Alexander and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
