Dallas, Texas - Mistie Caprice Reeves, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away on December 21, 2023. She was born on March 16, 1967 in Dallas, Texas. Mistie was a loving person who never met a stranger. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Mistie had an extraordinary talent as a singer and was a cherished member for over 30 years at the Mt. Rose Church under Bishop Jeffery Thomas. Her angelic voice could fill the room with warmth and bring solace to those in need. Mistie's love for music and her deep faith made her an invaluable asset to the church community.
In addition to her passion for singing, Mistie had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She would often embark on journeys to explore new places, immerse herself in different cultures, and create beautiful memories along the way. These trips allowed her to experience the world's wonders and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
Mistie's proudest accomplishment was being an organizer of a Multiple Sclerosis support group. She dedicated herself to providing guidance and comfort to individuals affected by this challenging disease. Mistie became a pillar of strength for those facing adversity and used her own experiences to inspire hope in others.
The memory of Mistie will forever be etched in our hearts. She has touched countless lives through her limitless love and selflessness. Mistie's warm smile and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Makayla, who was the light of her life and brought immense joy to every moment they shared together. Mistie's mother Willard Reeves stood by her side through thick and thin, providing unwavering support and unconditional love. Her sister Sylvia was a constant source of love and comfort during difficult times. She is also survived by Her Brother Phil.
Mistie also leaves behind a loving extended family. Her goddaughters, Paula, Jacey, and Zcerita, and godson Rollins hold cherished memories of her guidance and mentorship. Mistie's presence in their lives will forever serve as an inspiration.
She was preceded in death by her father Willis Reeves, brother Willis Jr., and grandmother Sylverine Jackson. Although they have left this world, their spirits will forever be intertwined with Mistie's enduring legacy.
Services to celebrate the life of Mistie Caprice Reeves will be held on December 29, 2023. The Prayer Service will take place at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas, Texas. The service will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM.
On December 30, 2023, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Mt Rose Church located at 7141 Field View Ln in Dallas, Texas. The service will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM. This gathering will be a moment to reflect on the beautiful life Mistie lived and to find solace in the memories shared.
Mistie Caprice Reeves has left an indelible mark on all the lives she touched. Her genuine love for others and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire us all. Although we mourn her loss deeply, we also celebrate the incredible woman she was and the love she bestowed upon us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Mistie's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or any charity supporting those facing adversity.
