NANNIE BURTS

Sister Nannie S. Burts was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Willie Lee Owens and Sadie Owens. She lived in Nashville, Tennessee until the age of 18.

In 1953, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska as a military wife. She worked for the Air Force as a Federal Civil Service Employee for 31 years.

She was prayerful and faithful member of the Greater Friendly Church of God in Christ  in Anchorage, Alaska for 50 years under the leadership of the late Bishop C. D. Williams.

In 2003,  she moved to Grand Prairie, TX near dear daughter, Veronica Burts Covington.

Sis. Nannie Burts is survived by her daughter, Veronica Burts Covington; sisters, Rosie Brooks of Nashville, Tennessee and Nancy Simmons of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Richard James; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Craig of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Charles James and William James of San Diego, CA.
