Nelva Lorene Miller known to her brothers, sisters and friends as “Syke” “Lo” and “Tootsie”, was born August 11, 1939. She was born to the parents of Adolphus and Woodie Fields in Henderson, Texas.

Nelva Lorene Miller received her schooling in the Henderson Public School System. From High School she moved to Dallas in 1957 with her husband Robert Q. Miller whom she was married to for 58 years until her departing. Lorene worked as a supervisor for Scobee Foods for 26 years where she made countless friends and relationships with the women that worked alongside of her.

Nelva was an extremely down to earth person and would not hesitate with any monetary need, advice or comforting that any of her family or friends needed. She never hesitated to speak her mind and telling you the truth whether you were right or wrong.

In the 1990’s Lorene turned her full attention to doing the Lords work with her husband and assisted Pastor Maurice Floyd with the starting of Grace Missonary Bapitist Church which is now located in Lewisville, Texas.

Lorene was the third oldest of seven brothers and sisters still living: Howard Fields, Melba Brantley, Betty Lewis, Weldon Fields, Joyce Johnston and Eric Fields.

Lorene leaves behind her husband, Robert Miller, Vance Miller(son), Roddy Miller(son), Elizabeth Miller(daughter) and was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberley Miller. She also leaves behind her daughter in law Nicole Miller, 5 grand children Sean Brooks, Bianca Miller, Zoie Miller, Christopher Miller and grand daughter Gabrielle Miller along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Lorene spirit, motivation and drive influenced us all and she will be truly missed by all that encountered her.
