NORMAN BEND

It all began in Dallas, Texas, on August 6, 1954, when Lonnie and Melvina Bend welcomed their baby boy into the world.

Norman grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he was educated in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from South Oak Cliff in 1973.

In 1976, Norman married Kathy Chambers, and three children were born to this union, Corey, Norman Jr., and LaShondra. During this time, Norman started working with his dad, Lonnie Lee Bend, Sr., and brothers, Leon Lonnie Jr., and Rueben Bend. After the death of his dad, he decided to keep the business going, being self-employed at L.L. Bend and Sons Construction and Plumbing for many years.

On September 19, 1998, Norman married his current wife, Alice Meeks. Although no children were born from this union, they loved each other very much, and were married many years.

Norman accepted Christ in his life at an early age and later in life, united with God’s Total Deliverance Church where he was currently a member.

Norman was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by us all. Preceding him in death are Lonnie, Melvina, and Leon Bend. Left to cherish his memories: wife, Alice Bend; children, Corey, Norman Jr., and LaShondra; their mother, Kathy; stepdaughter, Veronica Brown; brothers, Lonnie Jr., and Rueben; sisters, Avis Smith, Joyce Perry, Viola Allen, and Isabell Goodson (Joseph); and a host of other relatives and friends.
