OLEVIA HICKMAN

Olevia Hickman, 85 of Deridder, Louisiana peacefully passed away at City View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Worth, Texas on November 25, 2023. Olevia was born in Evans, Louisiana on March 01, 1938, to Esthley and Kernel O'Banion. In 1957 Olevia married the love of her life Samuel Hickman, in this union 2 children were born.

Olevia, accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. In 1980 Olevia became a faithful lifelong member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, DeRidder, LA under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Stafford until she departed this earthly life. Olevia loved the Lord, her family, and her church.

Olevia was employed at the Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder for 28 years as the Head Cook. When Olevia was not working you could find her in her happy place, which was her garden. She enjoyed being able to share what she planted with family, friends, and neighbors. Olevia is survived by her two daughters Lorinda Muhammad and Rebecca Robinson, and was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.

While on this earth Olevia enjoyed life to the fullest with her daughters, grand-children, great-grandchildren, and friends. Olevia always greeted you with a smile, kind words, and a hug. She never met a stranger and she loved on everyone.

Olevia, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a friend will truly be missed by all that knew her and felt her unconditional love for them.
