Oliver H. Johnson was born January 17, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Zearaleas Ann Kennedy and the late Sherman E. Johnson, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister Juanita Jones, Edwina Johnson, brothers: Allen, Maurice, and Sherman Johnson, Jr.; cousin Chandra Johnson and great nephew Jamal Moore. Sister-in-laws: Debra Volson, Audrey Armand, Mildred Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Lillie Coleman wife of 37 years; sisters: Lena and Janice Johnson; brothers: Darryl D. (Mrytis), Leon (Renee), Warren, Eugene (Betty) Johnson; brother-in-laws: Earl Coleman and George Volson; Godchild Robin George (Andre), favorite cousin Lester Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Mr. Johnson received Christ at St. Joseph Baptist Church on 236 Robinson Avenue in Marrero, Louisiana on March 10, 1990. Mr. Johnson attended New Beginnings Church pastored by Rev. Joseph R. Fields of Lewisville, TX. Mr. Johnson became a Member of Relevant Life Church pastored by Rev. Anthony Cox. Mr. Johnson embraced Pastor Cannon of Total Body of Believers Worship Center as a member of the family after a visiting him in the hospital in 2015.
During Mr. Johnson years of employment he worked in New Orleans, Louisiana for Schwegmann Supermarket for over 14 years in varies positions. After Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Johnson moved to Dallas and begun to work at Link Staffing Company/Frito Lay as a warehouse man for eight years where he was recognized as the Employee of the Year in 2010.
Mr. Johnson favorite pass time was watching the Saints game, he was a devoted fan. During the football season you can hear him yelling “GO Saints”. He also love watching old movies from late 60s, 70s and 80s. Watching cartoons was another one of his favorites, he love to laugh and have fun. Mr. Johnson was a very devoted husband who ensured that his wife was happy and satisfied.
