PEARL V. YOUNG FRANCIS
September 28, 1946 - December 25, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pearl V. Young Francis, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Pearl passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, at Medical City McKinney in Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments.
Pearl was born on September 28, 1946, in Kingston, Jamaica to Leopold Astley and Chrysoberyl Young. From a young age, it was evident that Pearl had an unwavering determination and an unstoppable spirit. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Audrey Cohen College where she earned a Master's degree in Administration.
Pearl began her career as a key punch operator and steadily climbed the corporate ladder at AT&T. She retired as a Project Manager after years of dedicated service. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to those around her.
Outside of the professional world, Pearl had many passions and interests. She was fluent in Spanish and took joy in embracing different cultures. Pearl had a deep love for the color brown and found solace in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was sipping Jamaican rum or her favorite wine, she knew how to appreciate life's little indulgences.
One of Pearl's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She cherished every moment she spent watching movies like "La Bamba" with her daughter and grandchildren. There was nothing that brought her more happiness than being surrounded by loved ones.
Amongst Pearl's proudest accomplishments were her children and investment properties. As a devoted mother, she instilled strong values and provided endless support to her son, Joseph A. Cintron and Christina Cintron Graham. Her heart swelled with pride at the sight of their achievements.
Pearl will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Cintron Graham, and her husband, Papa Diop. Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren, Tiffany Graham, Nicole Graham, and JeuLea Cintron, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kevin Jackson Jr., Noah Crowley, Emily Crowley, and Ethan Graham.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Dorma Kirven, Norma Jean Rainford, and Landis Jones. Pearl was a loving aunt to Robert Kervin, Richard Kervin, Curtis Jackson, Kwame Rainford, Damon Young, Russell Rainford-Griffith, Natashia Sinckler. She was a source of strength and guidance to her extended family members Olga Brown Young, Len Rainford, Steve Scott in addition to a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pearl was predeceased by her parents Leopold Astley and Chrysoberyl Young- Bradley. She also leaves behind cherished memories of her first love, Jose Cintron. The loss of her grandson LaToya M. Crowley and great grandson JereMiah Graham is felt deeply by all who knew them.
The services to honor Pearl's life will be held at the GOLDEN GATE FUNERAL HOME and A CREMATORY located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas on January 5th, 2024. A Viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held the following day on January 6th at the RESTLAND CEMETERY in Dallas starting at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and reminisce about the vibrant spirit that Pearl brought into their lives.
Pearl V. Young Francis has left an indelible mark on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her determination, resilience, and unwavering love will forever be cherished and remembered. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and touched.
