RACINE COLLINS

August 24, 1933 — January 8, 2021

Life Reflections Racine M. Collins was born on August 24, 1933 in Corsicana, TX. She was the daughter of Bryant and Aresia Moye. Racine, commonly referred to as Twin, grew up in Ft. Worth, TX and graduated from the historic I.M. Terrell High School. She then completed Business Studies at Wiley Business School. Thereafter, she served admirably at the Ft. Worth Independent School District for over 35 years as an elementary school secretary. Racine was loved and respected by administrators, teachers, and students. She was a long-time member of New Bethel Baptist Church and most recently, Providence Baptist Church, both in Ft. Worth. Racine was also a long-term member of the Ft. Worth Association of the Federated Women’s Club - H.T. Mitchellaires. Racine is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Walter Collins, Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Stuart (Hardy) and survived by her daughter, DeLisa Cooper (Tim). Racine is also survived by her identical twin sister, Gloria Kavanaugh, Ft. Worth, TX, and her younger sister LaRuth Stewart, Willingboro, NJ. She leaves behind grandchildren: Raschene Singleton (Mike), Calvin Cooper, Tatum Cooper, and Tori Cooper. Racine is also survived by her loving niece, Cynthia Barnes and her nephews, Rodrick Kavanaugh, Mark Stewart, and Ronald Stewart. Lastly, she leaves behind a number of extended family members and friends. Racine embodied love and motherhood. She loved her family, her friends, and her community. Racine lived a life of service. She will be greatly missed! #9 Acknowledgement Statement of Appreciation: The family would like to sincerely thank all of the caregivers, particularly the staff at the Legend Memory Care facility, who served Racine so graciously in her latter days.
