“A MAN THAT WAS BLESSED BY GOD”
Raymond Jack Penigar Sr. was born Nov. 11, 1940. He was the son of Bishop Veomia B. Samuels and Herman Penigar. He was a good hearted man who loved his wife and family and was well loved, liked, and respected by many. After 32 years, he retired from General Motors in Arlington Texas with an excellent record.
He was a man of many talents and skills. He loved music and was able to play the organ, the guitar, the saxophone, and the cornet. Being a skilled carpenter, he knew how to design and build.
He met and fell in love with his wife of 62 years, Apostle P.R. Penigar (who was then Patricia R. Penigar) in 1959. He often spoke of how he felt when he first saw her. They married on Dec. 20, 1959 and had two children, Kathy Penigar, and Raymond J. Penigar Jr. He was a man of great work ethics who believed in supporting his wife and family, and was a wonderful Father.
The Godly and moral teachings of his Mother, Bishop Veomia B. Samuels (whom he greatly loved), monumentally impacted his life in many ways. When the Lord lead her to began the ministry of The Light of the World Pentecostal Church, he was a great help in the establishment of the Church. Being talented in music, he was the guitarist and became the organist of our Church. He designed and along with the brothers, helped to build the baptistry and also his Mother’s garage. He was a great help to the Saints in working on their cars when they needed repairing.
At the ending years of his life, he was touched by the Lord, saved by being filled with the Holy Ghost, entered into the family if God, and went on to be with the Lord. We have been blessed to know such a man as this. He will be greatly missed; But, Thank God he’s resting in a much better place, Heaven!
