Regina Gail Prox was born to WIllie V. Thompson and Winnie Lee Hardeman Thompson on August 5, 1955 in Athens, Tx. She was married to Quincy B Johnson in 1971. To this union 3 daughters were born. Later she married Terry Gene Prox of Kaufman, Tx until his death.
She attended Bishop Heights for grades 1-5 and transitioned to West Athens in the 6th grade. She later attended Athens High School to the 9th grade then received her GED. She also attended college at Henderson County Junior College. She was employed for 17 years with Gulf State United Telephone of Texas later known as Embarq. She later became a manager at Movie Magic until an auto accident caused her health to decline.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Glenn Thompson, daughter Kristie Regina Johnson and husband Terry Prox.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, LaKesha Wynell Johnson Miller of Athens and Sonja Yvette Johnson Dodd of Tyler; special niece, Shandah Winfield of Birmingham, AL; special nephew, Lonnel Parker of Gainsville, FL; sisters: Julia Lynn Thompson of Athens and Tara Louise Parker (Andre) of South Holland, IL; grandchildren Robert NeGale Miller (Brittany), Jacob Ishmael Miller, all of Athens, Nicholaus Edwin Richardson II, Cesaleigh Christine Monmouth, and Donovan Travis Dodd, all of Tyler; great grandchildren, Brenson NcNeil, Khelsi Williams, Torrence Williams, all of Athens, Kieleigh Hatton and Jay’Ceon Newsome of Tyler, Tx. Special caretakers of 19 years, Maria “Chayo” Campa (Ernesto) and a host of God-children, nieces, nephews and other relatives whom she loved dearly.
