Ricky was a graduate of L.G. Pinkston High School and excelled as a track star. His athletic prowess shone bright as he conquered various events such as the 100-yard dash, hurdles, and relay races. Additionally, Ricky possessed remarkable talent in auto motor shop programs.

Known for his infectious sense of humor and zest for life, Ricky had an unmatched ability to brighten any room he walked into. His laughter was contagious, and his joy was felt by everyone fortunate enough to be in his presence. Ricky took great pleasure in attending his church; Sunday school held a special place in his heart.

In his leisure time, Ricky delighted in visiting Kiest Recreation and cherished playing dominoes with his companions. However, above all else, his pride and joy were his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Ricky is survived by his loving mother, Jessie B. Chiles; his sister Nadine Smith; his daughter Felicia Allen; his son Keith Smith; his daughter McQueen Brown; his son Paul Brown; his daughter Alicia Garrett; his son Marcus Garrett; Mary Williams who held a special place in Ricky's heart (HIS ANGEL); sisters Charlene Smith, Tana Warren, Leona Smith, Regina Lacy, Cynthia West; brother Reginald Lacy; brothers Roy Lee Smith and Kenneth Smith.

Funeral services will be held on December 29, 2023 at Golden Gate Funeral Home - Dallas located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Friends and family are invited to join a visitation event from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Ricky R. Smith will always be remembered for his vibrant spirit, quick wit, and love for life. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
