A beacon of joy and laughter, she passed away in Grand Prairie, TX, on February 14, 2025, at the age of 66.
Roshon's vivacious personality was a tapestry woven with humor, generosity, and a caring soul. Known for her ability to light up any room with her jokes, she had a knack for transforming ordinary moments into ones brimming with laughter and warmth. Her charisma and vibrant energy drew people to her, forging friendships that would echo through the years.
Her academic journey began at the esteemed Bishop Dunne Catholic School, followed by her graduation from A.W. Carter in 1977. Roshon’s thirst for knowledge led her to pursue an Associate degree in Sociology at Mountain View College, a choice that reflected her deeply empathetic nature and commitment to understanding her community and the world around her.
Roshon’s heart beat for children, and she channeled that love into her career as the proud owner of a day care center, where she not only nurtured young minds but also created a safe and joyful haven for parents. Each child in her care became a part of her extended family, and her dedication as an educator was only rivaled by her passion for interior design and fashion. She reveled in the artistry of creating stunning spaces and embraced the latest trends, always exuding a style that was uniquely her own.
Among her proudest accomplishments was the gift of motherhood, particularly the birth of her miracle child, Vivian. Roshon poured her heart into raising Vivian, guiding her with the same love and compassion she so effortlessly shared with others, her pride evident as she watched her daughter grow into a remarkable individual.
As we gather to honor Roshon’s life, let us remember her vivacity, her laughter, and her generous spirit that will forever resonate in our hearts. Her journey may have concluded on this earth, but the legacy of love and joy she imparted will linger on within all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
A funeral service celebrating Roshon Rena Farris will be held at New Birth Baptist Church, located at 444 West Ledbetter Drive, Dallas, TX 75224 on February 28, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM. May her memory be a blessing and her laughter echo on forevermore.
