ROYCE LYNN WILSON

Royce Lynn Wilson, born on June 11, 1963, in Oakland, California, departed this world on March 14, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and joy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His journey through life was punctuated by a profound dedication to both his family and career, marking him as a cherished soul whose presence illuminated every room he entered.

Throughout his 37 years at Hensley, Royce was not merely an employee; he was a cornerstone of his workplace, embodying the very essence of commitment and hard work. He took great pride in his achievements, including his graduation from Roosevelt High School in 1981—a milestone that became one of his proudest accomplishments. Royce also served his country with honor in the U.S. Army, embodying the spirit of dedication and service that defined his life.

Known for his soft-spoken demeanor and his ever-present smile, Royce was characterized by a giving nature that endeared him to friends and family alike. He could often be found laughing amidst the camaraderie of a gathering, spreading an upbeat energy that was infectious. His love for life was evident in his passions; he was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers, and he found immense joy in playing basketball, baseball, and indulging in video games. These hobbies were a testament to his spirited personality, blending competitive fun with heartfelt enthusiasm.

Royce was preceding in death by mother, Vincent Ivonne Summers, three brothers, Kenneth Summers, Jesse Gay and Carmen Leon Gay.

He leaves to cherish his memories, brother, Billy Summers, two sisters, Cheryl Summers Johnson and Charlotte Summers, best friend, Desmond Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Royce's departure is not just a loss but a profound silence left in the lives of many. As we prepare to celebrate his life, viewing services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas on March 26, 2025, between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM—a time to gather, share stories, and reflect on the joyous moments he gifted us throughout his life. The funeral service will follow on March 27 at 8:30 AM, also at the Golden Gate Funeral Home, culminating in a graveside service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery that same day at 11:00 AM.
