SHARRON ANN BATTEE

November 21, 1945 — April 22, 2024

Sharron Ann Haley Battee entered this world on November 21, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of S.E. and Virginia Haley. She was the 4th of 13 children. Sharron's journey was marked by a vibrant spirit and an unwavering dedication to her family and her faith. She graduated from IM Terrell High School in 1963, where her passion for music led her to play the bells in the school band. Following her graduation, she ventured to Los Angeles, California intending for a brief stay, yet God had other plans.

It was in Los Angeles, that Sharron embarked on a long and dedicated career at See's Candies, serving as the Sales Manager for 30 years. In 1966, Sharron joined Southern Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Kelly Key, where she found her church community. Over the years, she took on various responsibilities within the church, including the choir and usher ministries, and later completed the Evangelist Certificate Program. A faithful servant, church became her second home where she created friendships that would last the rest of her lifetime.

On October 20, 1966, in Los Angeles, California Sharron married Mr. Valrey Scott, originally from Walker, Louisiana. Together, they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Stephanie Scott and Shaunda Scott. Their home was filled with lots of warmth, love, and laughter and was always open to extended family members and friends. Sharron enjoyed playing games with her family, particularly Bingo, Skip-Bo, and Phase 10, and yes, she was known to never shy away from friendly competition. Outside of her passion for watching Western movies and completing crossword puzzles, she really liked to shop. You could always catch her at Ross, looking for the good deals.

Later in life, Sharron found love once more with Mr. Baby Ray Battee, with whom she shared many precious moments until his passing. She then returned home to Texas where she joined the Sweet Home Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James C. Brown until her health declined. Sharron’s life will be remembered by her daughters, Stephanie (Michael) and Shaunda (Adrian Sr.), her grandchildren, Corey (Geneva), Raven, Kiana, Adrian (Jr.), Adriana, and great-grandchildren Jacob, Montana, Jaxon, Kailani, and Julian all of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves behind 6 brothers, Curtis (Jane), Ronnie, Marvin (Rosie), Henry (Cheryl), Joey (Clemmece), Kim (Marquetta), and 4 sisters Cynthia (Willie), Virginia, Janet, Frankie (John), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, who will continue to carry fond memories of Sharron in their hearts.

On Monday, April 22, 2024, Sharron departed from this life. In the embrace of her Heavenly Father, Sharron is reunited with her late husband, Baby Ray Battee, parents S.E. and Virginia Haley, and her sisters, Sandretta "Carol" White and Mary Hackett. Though she may have said farewell to her earthly existence, her light will continue to shine through the lives of everyone she touched.
