STACY NICHOLS

October 21, 1962 — May 10, 2021

Stacey Eileen Nichols was the last of six children born to Bernard and Jane Nichols in Salem, NJ on October 21, 1962. Stacey attended public school in Salem before moving to Providence, RI in 1973.   Still grieving the loss of her mother who passed November 1979, Stacey became a mother to Allen Marcus in May 1980 and in March 1984 she welcomed Patrick Brian into the world.

Determined to start over and build a better life for her sons, in 1988 Stacey left Rhode Island and headed to sunny California at the invitation of her sister Shelley, brother Victor and myself.  It was in California, where she met and married Carlis Hull 1993. Their union was blessed with a third son Carlis Alexander.

Already known for throwing down in the kitchen and her good down-home cooking, Stacey attended culinary arts school in Los Angeles to further her cooking skills. Cooking was Stacey’s passion-she was a culinary artist’ who loved to “feed her boys.” Stacey worked in the food industry in every role from server to manager, at various restaurants around Los Angeles County. POPS Place in Los Angeles was where she really honed her talent.  Her staff from Boston Market in Lawndale, CA still remember her no nonsense demeanor. Although little she was mighty, and her staff knew she didn’t play when it came to getting the job done! Stacey enjoyed posting pictures of her latest meals on Facebook while listening to music and laughing.

Everyone knows Stacey was in her happy place while in the kitchen cooking some of her favorite meals.  She also enjoyed gardening with Granny, listening to music, hanging out with her grandchildren and reading.

Stacey made her transition in Mesquite TX with her husband by her side.

Stacey is predeceased by her parents and her son Patrick.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Carlis Hull; sons, Allen (Anthonishia) and Carlis; her siblings, Michael, Victor, Mark (Kathy), Shelley and Tracy; her sister-in-law, Vivian; grandchildren, Elyse, Allen Jr., Khi, Summer and Kayden. Stacey was well-loved and will be missed by her in-laws, especially her mother-in-law, Zela Scott and her “Granny” Ruby Hull who Stacey adored.  Mom to all, Stacey leaves to memory the many friends of her sons, who called to check on her often. She also leaves a host of extended family, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her food posts, her love of music, and her smiling face.
