Terry Lance Youngblood Jr. passed away on July 10, 2018 at 4:30 in the afternoon. Rain fell as his soul departed his earthly body, as if to beckon him home. He was the husband of Erica Hollingsworth-Youngblood, his high school sweetheart and best friend. They met at an SAT camp and competed to see who could achieve the highest score on the test; TJ won! They were married last year on October 14, 2017.
Born in Dallas, Texas on December 20, 1986, he was the son of Terry Lance Youngblood Sr. and Isadora Roxanne Joe. He attended The Great James Madison High School in Dallas, Texas. He graduated in 2005 and went on to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He was employed at Syncreon-BWM of Lancaster as a HazMat operator where he built many close friendships that he and his family deeply appreciated.
He committed his life to Christ through baptism at an early age and was an active member in numerous ministries throughout the rest of his life. He spoke before the church, participated in plays (always adding the comic relief), and sang in the choir. He is widely remembered as Madison High School’s star quarterback and for setting a district record for passing yards during his senior year. He played nearly every sport imaginable. He loved spending time with his family whether casually or for a special occasion. His family was indeed his stronghold. He also enjoyed working with children and always left a huge impression on their young hearts.
He leaves this earthly home to fellowship in Heaven with his grandfather Lee Arthur Joe, his grandmother Sarah L. Joe, grandmother-in-law Thelma L. Calmes, his father-in-law Charles E. Hollingsworth, and Mimi Hollingsworth-Youngblood (the precious family dog).
He is survived by his wife Erica Hollingsworth-Youngblood, his father Terry L. Youngblood Sr., his mother Isadora R. Joe (Lynn), two brothers Teddy Youngblood (Symone) and Trevoire’ Youngblood (Amy), two nieces Ayana and Trinity Youngblood, mother-in-law Jeanette Hollingsworth, aunts; Jacqueline Lewis, Yolanda Joe (Tommy), LaKeysha Leonard (Jerome), Louise Long, Mary Gavin (Willie Morris) and Teresa Jefferson Toney, uncles; Ernest Warner (Karen), Anthony Williams, Theodis Goodwin, Gentry Bankhead (Amy), Terry Goodwin, John Eddie Goodwin (Evelyn), and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
