On June 1, 2018, in His Supreme Sovereignty, summoned our own brother, Pastor Thomas C. Armstrong, a faithful servant, from earthly labor to eternal reward.
Pastor Armstrong was born on October 8, 1956 in Karnack, Texas to the late Gus and Ethel Armstrong. He accepted Christ at an early age at Collier’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Baldwin, TX.
He received his formal education within the Karnack Independent School District and attended George Washington Carver High School and graduated from South Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas. He attended DeVry Institute in Dallas, TX.
He served in the armed forces and was honorably discharged from the United States Army.
Pastor Armstrong relocated to Dallas where he met and married his Queen, Thelma Jean Armstrong.
He later joined Community Care Fellowship under the late Bishop James A. Armstrong, Sr. where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He heard the call of God and honored his call into ministry, humbly serving as Sunday school teacher. Because of his faithfulness and service to the ministry he was later ordained and elevated to a leadership position as Pastor of Evangelistic Ministry by James A. Armstrong, III Senior Pastor of Community Fellowship of Dallas.
He retired from the Salvation Army and was employed by the Veterans Administration upon his death.
Preceded in death by father, Gus Armstrong; Mother, Ethel Armstrong; four (4) brothers, Luther Graham, Oscar Armstrong, James Armstrong, Sr. and David Armstrong; two (2) sisters, Ethel Armstrong and Lula Armstrong.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife, Thelma Jean Armstrong; One (1) son, Anthony Fields; Six (6) grandchildren; Three (3) grandsons, Kamerion Fields, Ka’vont Kennedy and Anthony Fields, Jr. Three (3) granddaughters, Ahnesty Fields, Carson Avery and Amiyah-Rose Fields; Two (2) special daughters, Kameria Rockwell and Donnesha Ford. One (1) brother, Isaac Armstrong (Flo); One (1) sister, Frances Armstrong; Two (2) brother-in-laws, Leon Fields (Beatrice), David Fields all of Dallas, Texas; One (1) sister-in-law, Claudia McKenzie (Elgrove, CA); One (1) special niece, Priscilla Armstrong and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
