VENITA JONES

Venita LaShune (Gibson) Jones was born in Dallas, Texas on September 12, 1961. Her family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she spent her Elementary and Junior High School years before returning to Dallas, Texas in 1976.

She attended Roosevelt High School where she graduated with honors in 1980. She also attended El Centro College. Venita worked for the Dallas Times Herald from 1979-1984. She then left there to pursue a career with the United States Postal Service for 37 years until her untimely passing.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her only child, Darius Jones; her parents, Rufus and Ellen Turner and Leon Thomas Gibson II; her siblings, Debra Handy, Barbara Patterson, and Leon Thomas Gibson, Jr. III, and a host of relatives and friends.
