Venoy Williams was born November 28, 1929 to the parents of Hubbard and Addie Williams in Cuney, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his devoted wife, loving parents, four brothers, one sister and one step-brother. Venoy slipped quietly away into eternity to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Veterans Hospital (Hospice Care) in Dallas, Texas.
Venoy graduated from Cuney High School in Cuney, Texas and then joined the United States Army and was honorable discharged in 1953. He later attended Prairie View A&M in Prairie View, Texas.
Venoy was united in Holy Matrimony to Clara Sherman Williams until her demise after 54 years of marriage. To this union three daughters were born.
Venoy joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Floyd D. Harris, and later under the leadership of Dr. Stephen C. Nash, where he remained a faithful member until his death. He accepted Christ and served in several auxiliaries including the Usher Board, Deacon Board and Sunday School Teacher while being a member at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He really enjoyed teaching his Sunday School class (Men Daniel #3). Venoy served as a trustee for the Cuney, Texas grave site and enjoyed going hunting and fishing with his grandsons on his land in East Texas.
Venoy was employed by Prior Product for 12 years and Texas Instruments for 21 years where he retired in 1989 as a machinist supervisor. He also sold fruits and vegetables at the Dallas Farmerâs Market.
Venoy leaves to cherish his memory three devoted daughters: Vivian (Louis) Jackson, Mesquite, TX; Cynthia Williams Ladejo, Dallas, TX, and Rita (Fredric) Wright, DeSoto, TX; five grandchildren: LaShakka âShayâ, Nike (Corey); Tiffany, Eric and David and two great-grandsons: Diondre and Caleb, six step-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Norris (Cecil) Brooks and Mrs. Bonnie Leffall, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
