VIRGINIA GAYTON

April 18, 1924 — November 23, 2020

Mrs. Virginia Gayton, of Dallas, Texas, passed away in her sleep on November 23, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. She was 96 years old.

Mrs. Gayton was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff in Dallas Church.  She married Mr. Jimmy D. Gayton on 2 November 1963.  They had one son, Jimmy Gayton.  Mrs. Gayton was the fifth child of eight born to Mr. & Mrs. Browning. She was a loving daughter, wife and mother of four children.  She loved to read her Bible, visit with family and friends, going fishing with her son Jimmy and fiancé (Stephanie), cooking and attending family gatherings.

She voted for the 44th President of the United States President Barak Obama and the 46th President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris (our 1st Black/Asian woman) this year. Mrs. Gayton is survived by sons:  Jimmy Gayton of Dallas, TX, and Herbert L. Biggs (Juanita) and family of Portland, OR; nieces and nephews of Portland, OR; and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Jimmy D. Gayton, parents William and Sarah Browning; siblings: Lorenda, Louis, Hettie Jean, Frank, Robert, Booker and J. Huie, and her children Willie and Carolyn.

“God” saw a beautiful rose in his garden (Mrs. Gayton) and he picked it as she passed away silently in her sleep on November 23, 2020, at the age of 96.
