MR VONDA LEWIS DEAN, a vibrant spirit who graced this world with his warmth and laughter, departed from our lives on March 15, 2025, in Dallas, the city where he was born on August 14, 1964. The son of Thelma and Lewis Dean, Vonda—affectionately known to all as "Vee"—grew into a lively character, embodying a charm that made him unforgettable.
Known professionally as a skilled mechanic, Vonda poured his heart into his work, becoming a trusted figure in the community and a problem solver for those lucky enough to call upon him. Yet, it was more than just his technical expertise that endeared him to many; it was his infectious spirit. He possessed an innate ability to light up any room, his laughter ringing through the air like music, his smile capable of brightening the grayest of days. A true life of the party, Vonda never met a stranger, weaving connections and friendships effortlessly throughout his life.
A proud graduate of James Madison High School, Vonda embraced learning and growth, channeling his energies into his passions beyond the workshop. From the roar of a motorcycle engine to the gentle rhythm of horse riding, he found joy in both speed and serenity. No gathering was complete without him, often indulging in hearty meals while sharing tales and laughter with friends and loved ones.
Vonda's legacy thrives in the hearts of his cherished children: Tanisha Kelley, Auxavier Dean, Jerlisa Morgan, and Caleb Dean. His love for them was his proudest accomplishment, and he reveled in their achievements, guiding and supporting them with unyielding dedication. They, along with his special friend, Shelia Henry, and his beloved grandchildren, Aaliyah Childs, Amber Dean, and Lyric Kelley, will carry his vibrant spirit forward, holding fast to the memories of his laughter and love. His siblings, Donnis Watson, Fredrick Dean, and his aunts Ethel Body and Alice Pruitt
As we remember Vonda, we do so with a profound sense of gratitude for the moments spent in his buoyant presence. His life was a radiant tapestry of joy and affection, woven together with the threads of laughter, familial bonds, and unbreakable friendships. Although he now rests alongside his beloved parents, Thelma and Lewis Dean, brother, Rickey Watson and Terrance Dean, his laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Vonda Lewis Dean may have departed this realm, but his vivacious spirit will forever remain alive in our memories.
