WILLIAM FRANKS

William Franks Jr. was preceded in death by his parents William Franks Sr. and Mildred Garrett Franks and his brother Raymond Franks and Bobbie Redmond Franks of Dallas, Texas.

Education: Elementary and Secondary Schools (Athens, TX) and Fisher High School 1952 Graduate/Alumnus, Prairie View A&M University (Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees in Business and Economics), Oral Roberts University (Theology Degree in Evangelical Liberal Arts). William Franks Jr. was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity (PVA&M University).

Employment: Prairie View A&M University as head of the Business Department, IMB (Retired) Kingston, NY, he was very proud of his years working there.

Religious Affiliations and Practice: At an early age William united with and was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Athens, TX. Later, he became an ordained minister. He was also a “Word of Faith” partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM). Until his health failed him, he studied his bible daily and enjoyed preaching at his church, Covenant Love Christian Center of North Richland Hills, TX. Williams Franks Jr. enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors. His favorite saying was “Keep Looking Up”.

He leaves to mourn his death: his spouse Shirley Morton Franks of Irving, Texas; children Reginald Franks (Kingston, NY.) and Daryl A. Franks (Irving, Texas; brother Irby E Franks & Dorothy  Cobbins-Stern Franks (Tyler, Texas); uncle Herman & Lucy Hambrick Franks (Athens, TX); aunt Patricia Franks Basher (Athens, TX); special cousin Bonnie Jo Franks Conner (Athens, TX); nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
