WILLIE ALFRED EDNEY, born on January 5, 1956, in Jefferson, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. He was a cherished individual who dedicated his life to both his professional career and the love of his family.
Willie's career was marked by his commitment as he worked for a tire company, where he applied his skills with diligence, embodying a strong work ethic that earned him the respect of his colleagues. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the Army, demonstrating a sense of duty and dedication that would carry through in every aspect of his life.
A graduate of Jefferson High School, Willie was known for his friendly and outgoing personality. He was flirtatious and a private person. He had an infectious spirit that loved having fun, which drew people to him effortlessly. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies and interests; he enjoyed spending time fishing, nurturing his garden, and engaging in lively games of dominoes. A devoted supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Willie took great pleasure in sharing his enthusiasm for the team with family and friends alike.
Above all, Willie's proudest accomplishment was his family. He demonstrated love and commitment to his loved ones and cherished every moment spent with them.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. A funeral service will be held in his honor on April 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Community Missionary Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas.
Willie's memory will be forever cherished by all who knew him, as his spirit and love continue to inspire those left behind.
