WILLIE JACKSON

March 2, 1939 — February 22, 2021

On Monday, February 22, 2021, Mr. Willie Lee Jackson known as “Stomp Down” received his wings.  Willie transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly mansion.

Mr. Willie Lee Jackson was born on March 2, 1939 in Ellis County, TX.  He was born to the parents of Mr. Willie Major and Bernice Jackson. Willie accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of his stepfather the late Elder Ozel Wade, Pastor and founder of the Wade’s Chapel Church of God in Christ in Palmer, TX.  He became a faithful member and was known for singing in the choir.  Later the Wade boys went on to form a “male chorus” and received many invitations to come and sing at various events.  People would gather around to hear the Wade boys sing praises unto the Lord.

Mr. Willie Lee Jackson attended the Callahan School in Palmer, TX.  Later, Willie began his journey in the workforce as a farmer for Wyndham Place.  Then he started another job as a farmer for Mr. Charles Davis and Company for several years.  In the 70’s, Willie relocated to Ennis, TX where he was employed for the City of Ennis until he retired.  He was known to be a dedicated hard worker in the workforce. Willie found favor with his bosses wherever he worked. He gained his bosses trust until he could pretty much come and go as he pleased because he was a man of integrity and could be trusted.

Mr. Willie Lee Jackson met and married Annie Laurel Sheffield in 1960.  To this union two sons were born.  He loved his family as well as he loved the Lord. He believed in providing for them.

Mr. Willie Lee Jackson’s hobbies later in life were listening to his music, singing and attending church service when he was able. He watched his favorite TV shows such as Family Feud with Steve Harvey and Gun Smoke, Big Valley and Virginia. Some of his favorite songs were: “Living on God’s Time” and “Good Vibes”.
